Material 1.0615, also known as C70D, is an unalloyed hardenable spring steel containing approximately 0.70 percent carbon. It provides high strength, good elasticity, and dependable wear resistance. C70D is commonly used for technical springs, retaining rings, clutch components, saw blades, and tools requiring both toughness and resilience. After hardening and tempering, this steel achieves an optimal balance of strength and ductility, while maintaining good formability in its annealed condition.
