1.2517 - Tool steel / 80WV2

Description

Material 1.2517 (80WV2) – Tool Steel Properties and Applications

Material 1.2517, also known as 80WV2, is an alloyed cold-work tool steel containing approximately 0.80 percent carbon, alloyed with tungsten and vanadium. It provides excellent wear resistance, high hardness, and very good edge retention. 1.2517 is typically used for cutting tools, files, punching tools, shearing blades, gauges, and precision parts. Thanks to its fine-grained structure and the combination of tungsten and vanadium, this steel offers high hot strength, dimensional stability, and uniform hardness throughout the cross-section.
