1.3917 - Alloy 42/FeNi42 / Ni42 / F1684 / K94100

Description

Material 1.3917 (Alloy 42 / FeNi42 / Ni42 / F30 / K94100) – Nickel-Iron Alloy Properties and Applications

Material 1.3917, also known as Alloy 42 or FeNi42, is a nickel-iron alloy containing approximately 42 percent nickel. It is characterised by its very low coefficient of thermal expansion and excellent dimensional stability over a wide temperature range. Alloy 42 is commonly used in electronic components, glass-to-metal seals, relays, semiconductor housings, and precision instruments where minimal thermal expansion is critical. The alloy also provides good formability, solderability, and weldability, along with strong resistance to oxidation and corrosion under standard service conditions.
