2.0401 - CuZn39Pb3 / CW614N / B16 / C38500
Description
Material 2.0401 (CuZn39Pb3 / CW614N / B16 / C38500) – Free-Cutting Brass Properties and Applications
Material 2.0401, also known as CuZn39Pb3, CW614N or C38500, belongs to the group of leaded copper-zinc alloys, commonly referred to as free-cutting brass. With approximately 39% zinc and 3% lead, this alloy provides excellent machinability, good corrosion resistance and sufficient mechanical strength. CuZn39Pb3 is widely used for turned parts, fittings, valves, connectors and fasteners, particularly in high-volume automatic machining operations. The material 2.0401 is characterised by short chip formation, high dimensional accuracy and smooth surface finish, making it a preferred alloy in precision engineering and component manufacturing.
