Material 2.4668, also known as Inconel® 718, is a precipitation-hardenable nickel-chromium-iron-molybdenum-niobium alloy that combines high strength, toughness, and excellent corrosion and oxidation resistance. It maintains outstanding creep, fatigue, and rupture strength up to approximately 700 °C while offering excellent weldability and dimensional stability. 2.4668 is widely used in aerospace, turbine and engine construction, power generation, and offshore technology for highly stressed components such as turbine blades, bolts, springs, and structural parts. Niobium, molybdenum, and titanium promote precipitation hardening, giving the alloy exceptional mechanical performance under severe thermal and dynamic loads.
