Material 2.4819, also known as HASTELLOY® C-276 or NiMo16Cr15W, is a highly corrosion-resistant nickel-molybdenum-chromium-tungsten alloy. It provides exceptional resistance to both oxidising and reducing environments, including chlorides, sulphuric acid, hydrochloric acid, and seawater. 2.4819 is widely used in chemical processing, flue gas desulphurisation systems, reactors, heat exchangers, and piping exposed to aggressive chemicals. The addition of tungsten enhances resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion, while the nickel matrix ensures excellent toughness and stability even at elevated temperatures.
