Key milestones

1875
In the 19th century, the watch industry began to make increasingly stringent technical demands on springs. This was the period when Studer SA was formed. Initially, the company only manufactured springs, but it subsequently also supplied flat wire for clients’ own use.

1975
From the mid-1970s, Studer SA has focused exclusively on the production of flat wire. The spring production division was sold off.

2003
Strong company growth and global clients’ requirements for technical support with the development of new products encouraged Studer SA to join the Notz group, which is based in Brügg. Thanks to this merger, Studer SA’s clients can now benefit from a modern stock of materials and from the in-depth technical advice available.
